Cheerleading

During football registration Ellie begged and begged to cheer. We gave in and signed her up to cheer. I am so happy that we did :) Ellie is having so much fun going out and strutting her stuff. Her coach, Jeanine, has been great. I can't believe how many cheers they had learned all before the first game. Marc's favorite goes; A-T-T-A-C-K attack, attack, attack. Wouldn't know that is one of Ellie's favorite cheers to do :) Each cheerleader gets a turn to lead the group in doing cheers. The last picture shows Ellie leading her group in cheering while they lead their team (Vipers) to VICTORY

Go Sun Devils

Ellie doesn't love anything more than being with her dad. She has always and will always have a special connection with Marc. One of the coaches on the Vipers (team Ellie cheers for) works in the ticket department for ASU. This coach arranged for every player and cheerleader to have a ticket for Saturday night's game with an extra ticket for a parent. Ellie was so excited to have one on one time with Marc. It's all she could talk about for days. They went, even after spending all day at our football fields and being completely drained from the sun. On the way out of the stadium they came acroos Sparky. Thanks Sparky for saying cheese and taking a picture with my sweet Ellie, she was very EXCITED!!!

Labor Day Weekend

This past Labor Day Weekend we had the pleasure of having a lot of Marc's family in town. Mitch plays for ISU who happened to be playing ASU on Saturday. It was fun to have everyone over for dinner before the game. Marc, the kids and I had a hard choice to make. We are definitely devils fans but when Mitch was on the field we cheered for him. ASU beat ISU 50-6 but it was a good time. After the game we went down and tried to find him. Wasn't too hard to miss the big bus waiting to take the players back to the hotel. We were laughing when we saw a Papa John's delivery car there. Sure enough every player got their own large pizza!! What...a whole large pizza to themselves...?

Birthday Celebration

Yesterday was Marc's birthday. It has become a tradition for his birthday that I make a homemade German Chocolate cake for him. I got this recipe from my Grandma T who would always make it for Grandpa. It quickly became one of Marc's favorites. I have to say it is a very yummy cake and I can see why he likes it so much. Marc, I hope you enjoyed your day :)

2nd Saturday (Monday)...Out for Season

Well, this football season didn't last very long. Saturday's game was rained out so they rescheduled for Monday which was Labor Day. Perfect...I thought yay I get to acutally watch the game. (Had it been played on Sat I wasn't going to be able to watch becasue Ellie was cheering at the same time) The game was being played out at San Tan High...way out there. Just before the game was to start some of the coaches decided to run a play for practice. Marc and I were up in the bleachers at the top ready to push the record button on the video camera. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to push that button and won't for Cameron's game until next football season. Just before the game was to start Cameron was tackled. The way he came down on the ground ended with a broken wrist. I didn't see this happen but Marc was at his side within seconds of this happening. Not knowing the extent of the injury I gathered our things and headed down to the field. Thankfully a mom from our team called the hospital. We walked in and a nurse came right out. Cameron was medicated taking some of the pain away within minutes. Dr Mullen (our personal orthopedic specialist) put a cast on Cameron. Thankfully that is all we had to do. With breaking both bones in his wrist we were very grateful Cameron didn't have to have surgery or any setting of bones. Now we just get to deal with a cast for 6-8 weeks :(

First Sat @ football

Saturday was our opening day for the 2009 season. We welcomed it in with record breaking temps reaching at 113. Thankfully Cameron and Ellie both had games that started at 8am. It was warm..I think Ellie's picture says it all. I found myself questioning why Marc and I are a part of this. We are both board members with Gilbert Pop Warner. With that comes the pleasure of spending our Saturdays' down at the fields. When it is all said and done we are happy to be a part of this organization and I have already started the count down...1 Sat down, 8 more to go.

Half way to 70

Yes, I had a birthday a few days ago. Marc kindly reminded me that I am now half way to 70. I just about died when he said that. Look I am already starting to feel old and I don't need anyone reminding me that I am. It was a good day... I was able to get a pedicure, have lunch with some friends and then my family took me out for dinner. Here's to another year!!!
