Happy Birthday Baby Girl

Happy Birthday to our sweet Emersyn

I can hardly believe the baby of our family is turning 8 years old today!! As I looked through her baby pictures to find one to post. I realized I was getting caught up in the moment. Looking through all the pictures that were taken when she was a baby either in the hospital or at home brought back many memories.

Emersyn, who is a tiny little thing now was actually our largest baby born. She weighed 7lbs 14oz. I remember looking at the scale as they layed Emersyn on it to weigh her. Seeing what her weight was I was sure the scale was broken. See all our other kids were in the low 6lbs when they were born. With all the extra weight Emersyn sure had some cute little cheeks. Those were something none of the other kids had. Emersyn was a very sweet baby. She hardly cried. What a blessing that was! Although, being the 4th child she probably figured, why cry....no one will be able to hear me anyway.

Emersyn today is still a sweet little girl. She has a sweet disposition that makes you want to be with her all the time. We love you Emersyn and wish you the happiest of birthdays!!!

Baptism Photo's

Emersyn is turning 8 this year. Hard to believe she will be baptized a member of the church in June. She is so super excited!!!!!

We took her and our camera for a little photo shoot. (I am hoping to get an invitation put together really soon). Isn't she beautiful....? Isn't she lovely...? (sorry, for some reason songs always seem to pop into my head when I post) Emersyn is very easy to take pictures of. She always seems to have that smile on her face :)

We looked and looked at some of the traditional white dresses for her baptism. Actually, to be honest, we have been looking for almost a year. Every store we go into that carries the white dresses we looked. We looked on line. Finally, after doing some spying on a blog I saw this white skirt. (This is so much more Emersyn than a traditional white dress) We ordered one and with a couple more items our baptism attire was complete.

She will be baptized on June 11, 2011 @ 9am. We will have everyone (well whoever wants to come) over to our house afterwards for some yummy food. Emersyn did request Strawberry Shortcake for the dessert. YUM!!!!

Grandma,

I want you to know how much we love you. What an honor it has been to have you as a Grandma and Great-Grandma to my kids. I know since Grandpa passed away almost 2 years ago life for you never was the same. For selfish reasons I wanted you to feel better. I wanted you to know we all love you and that would make it better. Sadly, that wasn't enough. You want to be with Grandpa in heaven and really, I can't blame you.
Thank you for all the kind words you always so willingly shared. Thank you for all the help you gave Marc and I when Cameron and Kaelyn were first born. You were always so willing to watch my kids. To watch you love on them was most precious. Not too many people (or kids) get to know their Great-Grandparents. Cameron, Kaelyn, Ellie and Emersyn will always remember you!!! They will always have memories spending time with you and Grandpa in Show Low and here at home. Always supporting them in their activities.
It is hard to sit by the side of your bed watching you rest knowing you will be crossing over pretty soon. Although, it makes me sad to think you will not be here with us anymore, I know you will be much happier with Grandpa in heaven. Grandma, we love you so very much!!!

Golden Scholar

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S E L L I E!!!!!

We could not be more proud of Ellie this year ( I say that with the biggest smile on my face). She was accepted into the Golden Scholar Club.

What is a Golden Scholar? Well, a Golden Scholar works very hard through the entire year of school. From the beginning of the school year they have all A's with the exception of only 1 B. The program starts in 4th grade and goes all the way through high school. A thank you goes out to Mrs Buckland her teacher too!!

Years ago if you told me Ellie was going to be a Golden Scholar in the 4th grade I would have never believed you. She has worked really hard this year to get the grades she has received. I know there have been a number of times I have posted on here about Ellie's struggles and how amazed we are in her. This post is only the same as the past. Ellie amazes me. I am constantly reminded of her strength she has. She is strong in all areas of her life. She is physically strong, mentally strong, personality strong. If you know Ellie then you know exactly what I am talking about.

I am so grateful for her strength and determination. Although, there are times where she drives me nuts :) Ellie definitely will not do what she doesn't want to do no matter how hard I push her. I hope this success continues for a long time.

Congratulations again Ellie!!!! We are so proud of you and the young woman you are becoming. Watch out!!

Program

Every year each grade gets an opportunity to put on a program for the school and parents. This year for Ellie's program they were able to play their recorders. A recorder looks a lot like a clarinet, but on a much simpilar scale.

This whole school year we have been privilegded to listen to Ellie practice it at home. Although, it is not an annoying sound. As a matter of fact, it is very sweet sounding. However, it does add a little to the craziness and loudness we already experience in our home.

Sadly, as you can see from one of the pictures, we were not able to get a real close look of Ellie during her performance on the stage. We did make sure to get a photo of her after the performance was over.

Broken Window

This is the result of some boys playing basketball on our back patio. Well, sort of... A VERY long time ago (serioulsy a year or more) we discovered a crack in our window. It looked to be the result of a couple things. It was either a rock hitting the window from mowing the lawn OR a beebee hitting the window. We could never get Cameron to confess as to which one it was. Over time the crack at the bottom spidered up. We kept saying we needed to get the window replaced, but like many things you put it off until you don't have any other choice.

That brings us to a few weeks ago... The "boys" were playing basketball in the back yard. Although, the window had been hit before this time it was hit just right. Enough to make the window break with glass falling out onto the patio. If only I could have had a camera in my hand at that moment. You should have seen the looks on all of their faces! PRICELESS!!! I think they expected us to yell, which we could not do. It was something we knew we needed to have done.

Thank goodness one of our good friends is a "glass guy"!! Cameron gave him a call and within about a week the window was fixed :)
