Bread

I LOVE BREAD!!! MY KIDS LOVE BREAD!! MY HUSBAND LOVES BREAD!!

Bread has to be one of my ulitmate weaknesses. I can never pass up some yummy bread. It is even harder when it is "come out of the oven" warm. Texas Roadhouse has some very yummy rolls, Carrabbas has some yummy bread. Every time you turn around and choose a place to eat there is yummy bread being offered at the table. I wish I could tell the bread to go away, but how do you deny yummy bread?

For Christmas I asked and received a Bosh bread mixer. I have attempted making bread a few times. Surprisingly, they don't taste bad, but they don't look very good either. I will come my quest of learning to make yummy bread. After all, everyone in my little family LOVES it!!

Women's Conference

After missing Women's Conference the last couple of years, I decided it was time to try and get back up there. For a while I didn't think it was going to happen, until one day there was a phone call asking if we were going....and the planning was set in motion. Women's Conference makes for a great get-away from the family. I not only get a break from the every day mother and wife responsibilities but I also get the chance to fill my lamp while filling the Spirit.

Tawna and I arrived late Wed in SLC. The lady at the rental car asked if we wanted a GPS system. Heaven's no, we know where we are going...or so we thought :) Let's just say we were never "lost". However, we did see a lot of Provo I am not sure I have ever seen before. Not only Provo itself, but BYU campus too!

It was cold this year!! We woke up with snow stuck to the ground Sat morning. I didn't mind being that we were on our way out. I tell ya, I don't know how the students up there do it... I am not sure I would walk to class if it looked like this outside. Guess that is why I never felt the desire to leave sunny AZ for Utah after I graduated from high school.

Thanks Tawna for a great weekend. I had a lot of fun while staying up late!! It will most likely take me all year to prepare for next year.

Isn't She Lovely

The most important event that has taken place these last couple of weeks is....Kaelyn had her braces taken off!!!! Yay!!!!!

Kaelyn getting her braces taken off was so different from when Cameron had his removed. Cameron sat in the chair had a cool laugh, but remained calm. Kaelyn on the other hand, holy cow, she was giddy. Maybe giddy is an understatement. She was smiling, laughing, kept checking herself out in the mirror. The assistants even had to wait for her a time or two. Dr Macdonald (best orthodontist ever) was even laughing with Kaelyn.

Wow...is all that keeps going through my head. She is one beautiful daughter we have!!!!

NCAA Tournament

Marc LOVES college basketball!!! So, when one of our friends called him asking if he wanted to attend the March Madness tournament down in Tucson, Marc was super excited. The best part of this whole deal is the tickets were FREE!! Not much in life is FREE :)

Marc, Ryan, Sonny and Ryan's friend Greg all got up early Sat morning and headed down to Tucson to watch some basketball. They were to meet someone down there who was giving them the tickets. After waiting around for 4 hours wondering if this person was going to even show up they finally got the tickets in hand. According to Marc, they were all just about ready to give up and make the journey home empty handed. As it turns out, this person showed and the seats were AMAZING!!!!!! Did I mention before how much Marc loves college basketball?

After watching an excellent game (which went into double OT) some of the guys were anxious to head home and see about catching some of the BYU game. Sadly, I don't think they got any of the BYU game and dinner came late that night, but the opportunity to attend the tournament was fun. So fun, that Marc is wanting to look into getting tickets for him and Cameron next year.

Aloha Festival

In March every year Tempe holds an Aloha Festival. We have a family in our ward who are Somoan. They have 2 girls who dance for a Somoan dane company. The dance company they dance for (for the life of me I can't remember the name right now) is suppose to be one of the best ones. They keep the costumes very authentic as well as the dancing style. Marc talks every year of going out and supporting this family. This year we were able to attend and watch some of the dancing.

While we were there I realized how much the Somoan culture is similar to the Native American culture. Some of the language sounds the same, the food is somewhat similar and the dancing is also kind of similar.

Emersyn was the only one who wanted to go with us. The day was rather warm and she probably would have rathered been home keeping cool, but we were glad she came. We were glad we went. Hopefully, next year we will be able to attend again, but this time be a little more prepared :)

Awards

Back in Feb at the end of the basketball season an awards assembly was held to honor all the athletes who participated in the winter sports. As we planned to attend, I couldn't believe that next year we will be attending and participating in the high school sporting program.

Although, the boys did not have a great season again this year. I am always grateful for the opportunity my kids have to participate. Cameron loves sports and I must say...I love watching him play sports.

If you know Cameron at all, you know that he loves attention. He loves to be the clown (he must get this from his dad). As the players are called up to receive their certificate and pin, most players will shake their coaches hand and take their place in line. It couldn't be this simple for Cameron. Nope!!! He likes to take it to the next level and hug his coaches. He did this last year with his coach as well. Maybe that is why the save him for last (no not really, they obviously hand them out in alphabetical order).

Thank you Coach Steger and Kleinman who helped coach Cameron while attending Desert Ridge Jr High. We are very sad the seasons didn't go the way we had hoped they would go, but kids sure had a great time. Maybe we will see you in the stands next year while they play in high school.

Been A Long Time

It has been well over a month since I have posted anything. Trust me it is not because there hasn't been anything happening in our lives. I will do the best I can to help update this last month.
