Girl's Got Talent

Kaelyn and some of her friends decided to try out for the school talent show. I had to sign a permission slip for her. I kept asking her what they were doing, you see I knew of only 2 practices they had had. One took place at our house and I am not really sure you could call it a practice... they were outside jumping around on the trampoline. The other was at Anna's house, who knows how much they practiced there.
Day of audition comes. Kaelyn is pretty excited. Me, well, I was hoping they would make it.
THEY MADE IT!!!!! Out of 96 acts that tried out they were 1 of 25 for the show!!! GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!!!!
Day of the show comes, I am super nervous for her. I know there is no way I would ever try out for that!!!!! Honestly, I never thought Kaelyn would either. She use to get "stiff" legs when she had to get up and do something in front of people :) Their performance was amazing!!! They did such a good job. It looked like they had practiced a ton. Come to find out....THEY HAD!!!! The girls spent a lot of their recesses practicing :)

Sissone fondue

Kaelyn had a great year in ballet!! We are so proud of her :) Starting in Aug Kaelyn will be going into "point" shoes. I have been hearing about it all year long. I am excited that she is so excited about it. I must admit I never would have thought she would take such a strong liking to ballet. As a little girl she was never really a "girly girl". Kaelyn didn't really play with Barbies or babies, although she has become the best babysitter in the world!!! Stay tuned for the Nutcracker in Dec 2010.

Ballet Demo

On Sat we had our annual ballet demonstrations. I love to see the progress my girls have made. Emersyn did a great job!! I cannot believe how much stronger she is this year compared to the year before.

Thank you to our dear friend Robbin for being a great ballet teacher :) My girls LOVE going to ballet each week!!

Planet Orange

Marc and Cameron had an opportunity to attend the Suns vs Spurs game 2 of the playoffs. These boys are so spoiled I am telling you. They have been to playoff games for both football and basketball. Not a bad resume for only being 13 yrs old. I am glad Marc knows people that offer these opportunities to our family.
All politics put aside...we are excited the Suns have made it to the Western Conference Finals. Sure would be awesome if the Suns were to go all the way to the NBA Finals....

Elementary Art Show

Emersyn had her big debut as an artist at the annual Elementary Art Show. Her masterpiece was displayed at Norwood Furniture in downtown Gilbert. She had some mixed emotions...a little excitement mixed in with a little nervousness.
I love the way Emersyn draws :)

Hey batter, batter, batter, SWING

Kaelyn wanted to play softball for another season. She played in the fall and enjoyed it so much she wanted to play again. Her coach, Brian, is a great coach. He teaches them the basics of how to play the game. You can only imagine his patience with 13 10-12 yr old chatty girls.
Not long into the season Kaelyn told me she would like to pitch. We discussed this for a bit. I finally told her Coach Brian will not have any idea you want to pitch if you don't talk to him about it. That day dropping her off at practice, she was a little early and Coach Brian asked her if she had ever thought of pitching. Perfect!!!! She got to pitch an inning of the next game. I wish I had a picture of her expression when Coach Brian called her in from the outfield to come in and pitch. Poor thing, you could tell she was so nervous, but she did a great job. After throwing a couple strikes I think her nerves calmed just a little but every now and then you could see her taking a large breath. Priceless!!!
This will probably be the last season of softball Kaelyn will play. Although, she loves it, her ballet is going to start taking even more of her time during the week. We have enjoyed sitting out in the sun watching you play softball Kaelyn. Thanks for a great season!!!!
