Winter Awards

I know I haven't been very good about updating our blog lately. I promise to do better. There have been some things going on in our family that I will try and catch up on.

In Feb. there was an awards assembly for all the winter sports players. Cameron being part of the basketball team attended the assembly. We all know Cameron has the hugger in the family right. Well, he couldn't resist giving his coach a hug when he went to accept his award. What I love about that picture is the expression on the 8th grade basketball team sitting behind. Gotta leave it to Cameron to bring a smile to everyone's face.
At the beginning of the season there were a few schools that were chosen for showing "pride". The 7th grade basketball team was one of those teams chosen. They receive a banner that hangs in the gym and will hang there forever. Cameron was part of that team.

Golden Gate Bridge

Our little "Go Car" tour took us to the Golden Gate Bridge. What a beautiful bridge. Most of the time we were there it was foggy and hard to see. I think I would be afraid to drive on that bridge for fear it would collapse and I would crash into the ocean. I know what you are thinking....I am a little afraid.

Chocolate Sundae

The best hot fudge sundae I have ever had!!!! Thank you Ghirardelli :)

Go Car

This was the most hilarious thing. While walking around we saw these little cars and thought we should do that. We didn't rent a car while we were in San Francisco (parking at the hotel was $50 a night..no thank you!) so this would be a way we could see the sights that weren't right within walking distance. It was fun, but we felt so dumb after we got in and started driving around. We thought we were either celebrity or had a bugger on our face or something. We had so many looks and pictures...it was kind of fun.

Unofficial Grandparents Day

This week was the basketball tournament. Everyone came out for what they thought was going to be the last game of the season. Desert Ridge played South Valley (who had beat us twice before). It was a great game with Desert Ridge coming out the winners of the game. When you win you have lots of smiles to share. Cameron was more than willing to take a few photos with the grandparents who came out to support him.

Desert Ridge played Mesquite on Tues and lost. It was a great season and look forward to next year.

Science Camp

It was Kaelyn's turn to go to science camp with the 6th grade this year. She was so excited while crossing her fingers there would be snow. She has returned bummed that her camera had run out of batteries but EXCITED because there was SNOW!!!! From the sounds of it there was quite a bit of snow on the ground with more snow fell Monday night when they got there. What a great experience this is... We are glad to have Kaelyn home!!!!

Next Stop..Powell & Lombard

While Marc and I were in San Francisco we had to ride the cable cars. They were a great way for us to get around being that we didn't rent a car.

Did you know; they have to replace the brakes on the cable cars every 3-4 days? There is a cable station along the paths of the cable cars. This is how it all works....these big wheels crank the cable along the track every day from 6am to midnight. Just a little info we found out.
